About Aniefiok Usoro
Why I'm Your Trusted Advisor in Estate Planning and Legacy Preservation
My name is Aniefiok Usoro, and I’m the founder of Usoro & Associates, P.C. My journey to estate planning has been anything but traditional, and it’s precisely that unique path that makes me passionate about protecting what matters most to families. I started law practice as a solo practitioner focusing on personal injury and family law in 1994, but in 2000, I made an unexpected decision—I went back to school to become a nurse. I earned my Associate Degree in Nursing in 2003 and have spent over twenty years running a home health agency with the last 15 years in the position of an administrator of the home health agency, specializing in geriatric and elder care.
This healthcare experience gave me something most estate planning attorneys don’t have: a front-row seat to what families really go through when they’re caring for aging loved ones. I’ve seen the difficult decisions, the family dynamics, and most importantly, what happens when families aren’t prepared for life’s inevitable transitions.
But it was two devastating personal experiences that truly called me back to legal practice. My friend Jennifer Uzoka, who also ran a home health agency, suddenly passed away from a blood clot—without a will. Her husband followed three years later with a poorly drafted will that led to Will contest, and years of family conflict in the probate court. By the time the legal battles ended, one-third of their wealth had been consumed by the probate process. The children who should have been comforted by their parents’ provision instead found themselves financially and emotionally drained.
Recently, I watched the same tragedy unfold again when another childhood friend and her husband , Mr and Mrs James, both passed away without wills. Their estate is still trapped in probate today, with family members uncertain about their future. These experiences didn’t just inform my practice—they transformed it. I realized that my unique combination of legal training and healthcare experience positioned me to help families avoid these devastating outcomes. That’s why I returned to active legal practice with a focused mission: helping families preserve and protect the legacies they’ve worked so hard to build.

About Usoro & Associates, P.C.
At Usoro & Associates, P.C., we do things differently than most law firms. We don’t create a one-size-fits all documents, rather, we look at your unique family dynamics, your assets, and what the law says would happened to you tomorrow and guide you in making decisions that will be the byproducts of the documents we help you create to ensure these documents will work as you intended when it is needed. We do not disappear after creating these documents- we have systems in place to keep your plan working over your lifetime as your life changes, your asset change, and the law change. We do all these at a flat fees with total transparency, so you know exactly what you’re investing in your family’s future. We help you pass on more than money—your values, voice, and wisdom to the people you love most. I bring both legal expertise and real-world understanding of what families face during their most vulnerable moments. I’ve witnessed firsthand the consequences of poor planning, and I’m committed to ensuring that other families never experience what my friends’ families went through.
On a personal note, I’m a daughter, a sister, a wife, and most importantly, a mother of six and grandmother of four —and what that brings to this experience for me is the awareness that planning is something you do for the people you love the most. You won’t be the one to benefit from the plan we design today—the people who will benefit are the people you love the most who will be dealing with things after you’re gone. So, why not act now that you are alive, have capacity and able to write. We are here to educate and guide you through.

5 Reasons To Never Give Your Children Outright Inheritance
Many families assume leaving an outright inheritance to their children is the simplest way to pass on wealth, but doing so can put those assets at risk from divorce, lawsuits, mismanagement, or loss of motivation to create. This guide explains why outright inheritances often fail and how a Lifetime Asset Protection Trust can protect your legacy while teaching financial responsibility and preserving family wealth.
